Information Technology Education & Scholarship (S.I.T.E.S)
S.I.T.E.S.
is a program that BDPA-Dayton offers to high school
students in the surrounding area. Participating students
will receive quality instruction in basic programming
concepts using the ASP programming language,
web page design using HTML, database design and various
topics in career development. These are skills that will
prove valuable and can immediately be put to practical
use.
At
the end of the training cycle, qualified students will
be selected to participate in the national S.I.T.E.S.
competition which will be held during the BDPA Annual
National Conference. High school students of BDPA
chapters from across the country will have the
opportunity to apply what they have learned, to network
with other high school students, to meet representatives
from some of the top companies in the information
technology industry (maybe for possible employment, so
bring a resume) and to simply have a good time.
So,
if you're interested in having fun while learning
valuable skills that will prepare you for the future,
contact a BDPA-Dayton member
about becoming a member and possibly joining the Dayton
Dragons at the national S.I.T.E.S. competition.
